Well, we have a home again! After living in Airbnbs and our motorhome for the last 4 months we finally have a place of our own again. And it feels so nice. The original completion date was in February, so we rented an Airbnb for January and February. But the completion date got delayed and since the place we were in was already booked for March we had to move again.

Well we’ve been in Texas for a month now so figured it’s time for an update! I’d say the three biggest differences I’ve noticed between Washington and Texas are: a lot more sun, a lot less masks and people are proud of the state they live in (Texas flags are everywhere!).
Continue readingSo after saying our goodbyes last night (which was not fun!) we hit the road this morning to Texas with the Removal Company. We woke up early today and finished packing the last few things into the U-Pack trailer and our two vehicles before heading out. We decided to take the route down through California, Arizona and New Mexico.
Continue readingToday was our first full day home after being at the NICU for 83 days! And man did it feel good to be home! Charlie had a good first night in his new crib. He slept most the night but we did wake up a few times to his monitor beeping; but each time we checked him he was ok.
It’s Saturday, July 30, 2016, and we’re finally in our motorhome!
We’ve spent the last month purging our stuff so we could move out of the home we were renting in Ridgefield and into our motorhome.
And man, talk about a PROJECT!
It’s been a ton of work. And kudos to Lacie for bearing the brunt of the work. I’ve been busy with a couple big copywriting projects this last month so Lacie has been the one doing most of the “purging.”
After a lot of talking, planning and praying we finally decided to hit the road in our motorhome!
We’re coming to the end of our 1-year rental agreement here at David’s house in Ridgefield and we’re not ready to buy our first home yet. So we figured this would be a great opportunity to go on a cross-country RV adventure!
Benjamin (Benji) Samuel Monen was born on February 7, 2015 at 4:48 a.m. He was 9.0lbs and 22 in long. Here’s a photo from the day he was born:
