First Full Day Home After 83 Days At NICU

Today was our first full day home after being at the NICU for 83 days! And man did it feel good to be home! Charlie had a good first night in his new crib.  He slept most the night but we did wake up a few times to his monitor beeping; but each time we checked him he was ok.

Charlie was born at home on February 27th at 5:29 p.m. You can read more about the birth here. After about 5 hours we called 911 because we noticed how much he struggled to breathe. Staring Contest with Emma Grace

Lacie laughs at us because I won’t let Emma win and so we stare at each other forever until her eyes start to water. Emma gets me this time because she starts talking smack to me and makes me bust up laughing!

Baby Charlie Born!

Baby Charlie born Feb 27, 2018 at 5:29 p.m. 8 lbs 10 oz and 21″ long!

Baby Charlie was born at home on Tuesday, February 27th at 5:29 p.m. He weighed 8 lbs 10 oz and was 21″ long. The birth seemed to go well for Lacie — although it seemed to go a lot faster than her other three.

One thing that stood out to me was that he didn’t cry much right after he was born. Lacie also noticed that he wasn’t sucking at all – even after a few hours. Other then that he seemed ok. His eyes were open, he was alert and his skin color was good.
